Low Level Flying (LLF) is the most critical part of aviation in terms of safety. Flights at low altitudes and usually with small and less equipped airplanes are particularly vulnerable to all hazardous meteorological phenomena. The meteorological (MET) support for LLF in Europe is very fragmented and inconsistent, as a consequence of poorly defined MET services for LLF in the ICAO Annex 3.

The eGAFOR Project idea is based on cooperation among MET service providers in Central and Southeast Europe and the ultimate goal is to provide the LLF user with a consolidated and harmonized MET service for a flight planned over several states. The project will cover a large area that will include GAFOR routes for which GAFOR forecasts will be issued in a consolidated way.

Eight organizations are included in the project, and one of the project partners is Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency.

The project is expected to be completed by December 31, 2020.
