Radio Navigation Systems

Radio Navigation Systems are the basis for the landing of aircraft, regardless of whether it is a route or terminal means. Some of these systems perform both tasks. Terminal radionavigation systems assist the pilot in landing the aircraft, while routine radionavigation systems allow the pilot to determine the position of the aircraft during flight.

Implemented radionavigation systems in BHANSA are:

  • Instrument Landing System-ILS,
  • VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range VOR,
  • Non-Directional Beacon- NDB,
  • Distance Measuring Equipment DME.

Radionavigation systems are installed in different locations for the purpose of providing route air navigation.
